New industry report reveals effects of the economic climate and emerging technologies on the response management industry, along with trends to watch for in 2025

TORONTO, February 5, 2025—Loopio, a leading response management software company, announced today the release of its sixth annual RFP Response Trends and Benchmarks Report.

In partnership with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), over 1,500 companies around the globe were surveyed, culminating in the industry’s most comprehensive view of the RFP response management field. It includes key industry benchmarks, as well as larger trends impacting RFP revenue, submission rates, and volume.

“With six years of data behind us, we can clearly see that RFPs consistently generate more than a third of revenue for organizations, making them one of the most important revenue engines out there,” says Zak Hemraj, CEO and co-founder of Loopio. “This year, we saw teams gain new support and resources—most notably in the form of software tools and AI. Proposal teams have had to adapt quickly to unprecedented technological advancements.”

“We are seeing teams re-evaluate their processes more deeply and make positive changes that will impact their long-term success. In this report, we go deeper into these trends, and share data-driven tips your team can use to win more business in 2025.”

Some key findings of the report include:

  • AI becomes mainstream for response professionals. 68% of teams are now using AI, doubling last year’s average and pointing to the ubiquity of the technology among response professionals. Out of those who are using AI, 70% report using it on at least a weekly basis.
  • Teams are becoming more selective. As the economy rebounds, teams are becoming choosier about the RFPs they respond to. RFP submission volume decreased to 153, compared to 175 last year. Additionally, 83% of teams now report using a go/no-go process, compared to 77% last year.
  • RFP software sees widespread adoption. Likely owing to the drastic increase in the prevalence of AI, 65% of teams now use RFP response software in their work, up significantly from last year’s 48%. Those who use RFP response software also report being more satisfied with their process: 71% for software users compared to 51% of non-software users.
  • RFPs continue to influence over a third of company revenue. Respondents reported that RFPs influenced 37% of their company’s revenue in 2024 on average. This marks the sixth year that RFPs have influenced a third or more of revenue, underlining how essential RFPs are to companies’ bottom lines.

“The 2025 RFP Response Trends & Benchmarks Report provides a wealth of knowledge for bids and proposal professionals,” says Rick Harris, CEO of APMP. “From economic shifts to the rise of AI, you’ll find industry-leading insights to help spark productive conversations with your team, manager, or organization.”
